This handmade Japanese paper is made from unbleached Japanese mulberry trees using the traditional method.: It is made by reversing the front and back sides of wet paper just after being made, piling it up, pressing two sheets together, and drying them out in the sun. It is a thick kozo paper, designed for use in craft work. It is not designed for writing or printing. It is used to soften the paper by rubbing it and use it as a cloth, to make Ikkancho paper, and to process it into Shibushi paper.
